Biography

Richard Simpson studied fashion design and marketing in Glasgow, pursuing an interest in subcultural fashions and styles, before locating to London. He initially styled fashion for i-D magazine, progressing to fashion titles Vanity Fair, Elle and Interview, before becoming fashion director and editor for Jocks & Nerds magazine.

He has worked extensively internationally in fashion and film for over 20 years with leading photographers and directors on award winning projects, as a creative fashion director and costume designer on editorial, advertising, music, commercial and film commissions.

In recent years, Richard attained a Master’s Degree in International Fashion Marketing and lectures at universities in the UK on Fashion Marketing, Content Creation, Promotion and Communication, while continuing work as a creative fashion director on fashion and film projects.
